Mary Lou Larsen, 77, of Sedalia, MO, died May 11, 2017 at the Stevens Community Medical Center, Morris, MN. She was born October 26, 1939, in Sedalia, a daughter of Aubry “Jack” and Amanda Luellen (Bryant) Dillon, both of whom preceded her in death.

Mary Lou passed away peacefully with her family by her side, but lived life with a positive attitude and a smile for everyone she encountered.

She was a beloved mother who devoted her life to taking care of her family, always giving what she could to make everyone else feel loved. She loved her many pets and once she started feeding them, they became part of the family.

She loved to travel and had a passion to learn the history of every place she lived. Her travels took her to many states, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Florida, Washington D.C. just to name a few, and even overseas to Spain. Her favorite place to live was Seville, Spain, which she spoke of often. She lived in Spain for three years while married to Bob Larsen who was in the U.S. Air Force. She would always smile and try out her broken Spanish every chance she had.

She worked at Best Western for many years and really loved her work. The guests appreciated her hard work and always made it a point to thank her. Coworkers became like an extended family and whenever they needed help, she would help them any way she could.

Surviving are sons Shawn Luke Larsen, and his wife, Debra, of Morris, MN, Michael Aubrey Larsen and his wife, Mary, of Arlington, VA, and Scott Kirby Crump and his wife, Annie, of Hudson, WI; one sister, Peggy Schwalie, and her husband, Jim, a brother, David Dillon, and his wife, Joni, all of Sedalia; twelve grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Jerry Robert and Cory Michael; one brother, Jackie Dean Dillon; and two sisters, Virginia Lee (Dillon) Buso and infant sister, Barbara Jean Dillon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
