From Jan Miller 9/8/'17 - OBITUARY -- MRS. J. W. BROOKS
Elizabeth White was born in Washington county, Virginia, November 10th, 1867, departed this life at her home near Cabool, Mo., January 2, 1941. She had spent the greater part of her life in Texas county, having resided here 70 years. She was united in marriage to Joel W. Brooks, August 3, 1884.
She was converted to the Christian Faith in early girlhood, and was very faithful throughout her life.
She leaves to mourn her passing the husband, 5 sons, 3 daughters, 2 sisters, 1 brother, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
The sons are, Arch and Marshall Brooks, of Cabool, Mo.; James F. and Audie Brooks, Drumright, Oklahoma; Grover Brooks, Newkirk, Oklahoma; the daughters, Mrs. J. W. Wright, Spokane, Washington; Mrs. F. R. Callaway, Moor Park, California; Mrs. Myrtle Obluck, San Diego, California; the sisters are, Mrs. Louisa Brewer, Grogan, Mo.; Mrs. Sarah Moed, of Sun City, Kansas; the brother, James White, of Cabool, Mo.
She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ice at Nagle church, Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Nagle Cemetery under the direction of the Elliott Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Joel W. Brooks, 90, who died Friday March 18 at his home in Cabool, were held Sunday in the Nagel Church, with the Rev. Earl Sigler officiating.
Survivors include three sons, Arch of Cabool, Grover of Mt. Vernon and Andy of Drumwright, Okla.; three daughters, Mrs. Clara Wright of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Myrtle Obluck of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Addie Callaway, residence not known; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was the father of the well-known peace officer, Marshall Brooks, deceased.
