Opal Gill, age 78, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 24, 1938 in Hutton Valley, Missouri to Hiram and Gladys (Napier) Godsy and the 9th of 10 children.
She was a graduate of Willow Springs high school, and graduated from the Springfield Beauty College and obtained her license as a Cosmetologist and worked as a Cosmetologist for 20 years. She married Gene W. Gill, on August 29, 1959. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister. Opal is survived by her husband Gene W. Gill, her son, Stephen Gill, her daughter Gena Gill, her grandson, Christopher Gill, grandson Nicholas Gill, her brother Chester Godsy, her sister Dorothy Jackson.
She enjoyed a full life, and loved her Lord, her church family at South Haven Baptist church of Springfield, her family, crappie fishing and especially her grandsons.
