Mary Frances Flowers, 90, of Cooter, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born June 29, 1917 in Paragould, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Bose Coleman and Annie Lawson Coleman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Gardner Flowers, on October 14, 1973; two daughters, Mary Maxine Burk and Faye Mulburn; one son, Everett Flowers; and two granddaughters, Kay Turner and Mary Alice Maza.
She attended Cooter High School, was a homemaker and a member of the Tyler Church of God.
Mrs. Flowers leaves five daughters: Sharon Rogers and her husband Don of Steele, Jessica Perry of Prescott, Ark., June Keen of Cooter, Kay Delgado of Lexington, S.C., and Jeanie Szymaniak and her husband Don of McKinney, Texas; five sons: Virgil Flowers and his wife Denise of Atoka, Tenn., Benny Flowers and his wife Sandra of St. Louis, Danny Flowers and his wife Ruby of Cooter, Keith Flowers and his wife Cathy of Steele and Lemuel Flowers and his wife Ingrid of Woodstock, Va.; 30 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Flowers were held at 12 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Steele with Rev. Keith Flowers and Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.
Pallbearers were her grandsons: Eric Flowers, Nathan Flowers, Barry Rogers, Steven Neil, Mike Szymakiak, Chip Flowers, Everett Flowers III, Tommy Burk and Scott Flowers.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons: Cory Flowers, Mark Flowers, Brandon Flowers, Matt Flowers, Brian Rogers, David Flowers, Paul Delgago, Kevin Perry and Jim Mulhurn.
