Maxine James, 93, of Willow Springs, Missouri departed this life on September 19, 2017 at Willow West Apartments, Willow Springs, Missouri. She was born April 19, 1924 in Willow Springs, Missouri, the only child of Robert and Mae (Eidson) Williams.
Maxine married her childhood sweetheart, Lyle James, on March 21, 1942, and stood beside him as he served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He precedes her in death, along with her parents.
She is survived by her four sons, David and wife, Linda, of Licking, MO, Randall and wife, Karen, of Branson, MO, Timothy and wife, Cindy, of Blue Springs, MO, and Matthew and wife, Jimalee, of Willow Springs, MO; seven grandchildren, Amy Jo James, Robert James, Katie Montgomery, Jeremy Arnold, Megan James, Lindsey Schwalm and Taylor James; five great grandchildren, Sydney and Sophie Montgomery, Kolby, Brady, and Audrey Jo James, and Baby Schwalm expected in April.
Maxine accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church.
In addition to Lyle, Maxine’s four boys and her grandchildren were the center of her life. She took pride in her home and always enjoyed times together with her family. Maxine and Lyle loved to travel, sharing numerous trips together in a new Chevrolet.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church, Willow Springs. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs. Interment will be in Willow Springs City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Lyle L. James passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 while at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs. Born on July 12, 1924, in Cabool, Missouri, to Jesse Clyde and Martha (Plattner) James, he was 86 years old.

Mr. James grew up in Willow Springs where he graduated from the Willow Springs High School with the class of "42". On March 21, 1943, he married Maxine Williams in Willow Springs with the Rev. Fred McPhail officiating. During that same year, Lyle attended Southwest Baptist College where he played basketball. After his return to Willow Springs, he joined the US Army Air Corps and proudly served his country during World War II. Lyle owned and operated James Motor Company in Willow Springs for over 50 years. He thoroughly enjoyed selling cars and was very proud of the Chevrolet brand. Lyle was baptized at the First Baptist Church in 1940 and later ordained as a deacon in 1953. He was a charter member of the Trinity Baptist Church; charter member and past president of the Willow Springs Rotary Club; past member of the Willow Springs School Board; the Willow Springs Development Corporation; the Board of the Mercantile Bank; and a member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his numerous civic activities he enjoyed water skiing, golf, sports and athletic events; and he held his private pilot's license for many years. Lyle's greatest enjoyment came from being with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Herbert James.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Maxine James of Willow Springs; his sons David James and his wife Linda of Licking; Randy James and his wife Karen of West Plains; Tim James and his fianc?e Cindy Burton of Willow Springs; and Matt James and his wife Jimalee of Willow Springs. Lyle is further survived by eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and brother John James of Cassville, MO.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church, located at 1001 N. Harris Street in Willow Springs. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Willow Funeral Home, located at 106 E. Third Street in Willow Springs. Burial will follow Wednesday's service at the Willow Springs City Cemetery.
