Leroy D. Coleman, 74, of Gilliam, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Pallbearers will be Dale LaRue, Rodney LaRue, Shawn Coleman, Dennis Bird, Chris Coleman and LeRoy Bird. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation or Slater Church of God.

Born Oct. 16, 1929, in Miami, he was the son of the late Roland S. and Mary Callyer Coleman. He married Betty Bouse, who preceded him in death. On April 8, 1971, in Marshall, he married Velma Hicks, who preceded him in death May 28, 1980. On June 27, 1987, in Moberly, he married Joyce Pierce Minor, who survives of the home. He was a member of Slater Church of God and was employed by the Missouri Department of Transporation for 36 years, retiring as a supervisor.

Additional survivors include one son, Douglas Coleman of Marshall; one daughter, Susie Coleman of Marshall; one stepson, Jay Minor of Glasgow; one stepdaughter, Teri Leimkuehler of Glasgow; one brother, Rev. Lyle Coleman of Linn; two sisters, Mildred Thompson and Marjorie Shirley, both of Marshall; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Bird, three brothers and three sisters.
