MRS. PETERSON IS VICTIM OF DEATH
Dies AT Home Of Daughter in Belton, Missouri

Mrs. Hattie Peterson, who lived in Monett and vicinity all her life except for the past seven years, died at 10 P.M. December 31 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Fitch, in Belton, Cass county, Missouri where she has been the past three years.

Mrs. Peterson, 73, was known here by friends as "Haddie". She suffered a heart attack last May and has been ill for the past eight months.

She was the widow of John Peterson who at the time was a farmer in the Verona vicinity. She was born November 20, 1875, at Tacoma, Washington . She was a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the First Methodist church of Monett with Rev. Sherman Erickson officiating assisted by Rev . Fred Schmidtke, pastor of the church. Burial will be in the Spring River cemetery south of Verona, under the direction of the Dillon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Erickson, Ted Erickson, Victor Schelin, John Engledorf and August Beckman.

Mrs. Peterson is survived by eleven children. The five sons surviving include Martin and Arthur, both of Verona; Ted of Cave City, Ark., Cedric of Commerce, Okla., and Clifford of Picher, Okla. Six surviving daughters include Peggy Peterson, Ruth Peterson and Mrs. Helen Lean all of KansasCity, Mo., Mrs. Fitch of Belton, Mrs. Pauline Murphy of Chicago, and Mrs. Margaret Fike of Fulton. Two stepdaughters also survive.

A sister, Mrs. Jennie Horner of St. Louis, is a survivor. Twenty one grandchildren and five great grandchildren are living.

A sixth son of Mrs. Peterson, Ralph Peterson, Granby farmer, died in December, 1947 and was buried at Spring River.
