German Soldier UNKNOWN

POW Camp Crowder Cemetery
Newton County,

German Prisoner of War Burials: purportedly two headstones. Upon visiting Camp Crowder, the headstones were gone. The National Guard command at Camp Crowder were very helpful and took us to the area. There are photos of funerals at Camp Crowder on the Missouri Digital Heritage website. Two different people have seen the headstones at some point in the past. Note: The deaths/burials occurred during the 1940s during World War II when Camp Crowder was still an active Army base. If you have any information regarding the burials or who may have been buried there, please contact me. Every burial is important to the history of Missouri. Thank you!!
