Mrs. Eva Haggard, 52, a well known pioneer of this community died at the Lucy Lee Hospital at Poplar Bluff Saturday, January 3, 1948. Her death was caused by pneumonia.
Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. H. W. Ellis officiating. Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Undertaking Co. in charge.
Mrs. Haggard is survived by three sons, Wilson White and Montie White of Bloomfield, Mo., and C.P. (Pete) Haggard; four daughters, Mrs. Eloise McPeak of McAlester, Okla.; Mrs. Evelyn Fowler, Caruthersville, Miss Louise Haggard, Santa Cruse, Calif.; and Mrs. Minnie McEachern, Santa Cruse, Calif. Also her mother, Mrs. Francis Bishop of Steele, one sister, Mrs. Howard DePriest of Steele; four brothers, Elmer Bishop of Canalou, Mo., Mack Bishop, Greenfield, Tenn.; Orvil Bishop, Gals, Tenn.; Marcus Bishop, Steele, and 14 grandchildren.
