Graveside services for Betty Lou McThompson, 86, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. McThompson passed away at 1:17 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017 at her home.
She was born January 12, 1931, in Howell County, Missouri, to Cleve Carter and Amelia Nolte Carter. On May 28, 1948, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Harry Franklin McThompson, who preceded her in death on December 26, 2003. Mrs. McThompson worked at International Shoe Factory for twenty-three years. She loved her church family and helping her neighbors. Mrs. McThompson was a member of First Baptist Church for more than fifty years.
She is survived by two sons, Alan McThompson and wife, Lou and David McThompson and wife, Elaine; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Sharon Callahan and husband, Lewis, Dorothy Rhine and husband, Floyd, Midge Carter and Betty Green and husband, Kenneth; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Her parents, step-mother, Aileen Heath Carter Bentley, husband, one grandson, two great-grandchildren, one sister, two brothers and two brothers-in-law, preceded her in death.
Mrs. McThompson will lie in state from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Saturday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Bible Society and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
