Anthony Dorsey, aged 75 years and 8 months, died Aug. 28, 1904, at his home, 905 West Ninth street. Deceased was of large and robust frame, but had been afflicted with asthma for years. He was only ill one week and death was quite a surprise to his wife and six children. Three sons and three daughters survive to comfort the last years of the aged father. Wm. and Pete Dorsey live at Neck City while Thos. lives at Faulkner, Kan. The daughters are Mrs. Joe Koontz, Mrs. Kate Pargen and Mrs. Richards, all of Joplin. During his lifetime the deceased had actively engaged in farming and had lived twenty-four years at Nevada, Mo., before coming to Joplin two years ago. He was of a very happy affectionate disposition in his family and numbered all who knew him as friends. Mr. Dorsey was a devout Catholic and died very peacefully, according to the Scripture, falling on sleep. Beautiful flowers in abundance were in evidence at the home. Funeral service was conducted by Father O'Reilley at St. Peter's church Thursday at 9 A.M. The body was laid to rest in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Catherine Dorsey died April 20, 1906, at 65 years of age. She died after a seven month illness of heart disease at her home ,1409 Wall St. in Joplin. She had been a resident of Joplin for five years and was well known to the community. She was a staunch member of the St. Peters's Catholic church. Her survivors include two daughters, Mrs Maggie Koontz and Mrs. Fannie Richards. The funeral was conducted from St. Peter's church at 9 o'clock on April 21,and interment in the Catholic Cemetery.
