Billy Austin Henry of Hurley, Mo., went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2007. With his family by his side, he left behind his earthly struggles to gain his everlasting promise. He was born November 12, 1936, to Gilbert and Veva (Hilton) Henry. He was united in marriage to Betty Jane Raymond on June 29, 1956, and to this union, three sons were born. He retired from a career in auto body repair and dairy farming. He loved to hunt, fish and be with his family. His grandchildren will always have special memories of time spent with "Pa Bill". He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife; one sister, Jo Jackson and husband, Howard Jr., of Marionville; one uncle, Rod Hilton and wife, Beverly, of Republic; one nephew, Alan Wolf, of Republic; sons, Tim and wife, Brenda, of Marionville, Greg and wife, Susie, of Hurley, Mark and wife, Naomi, of Hurley; grandchildren, Trisha Henry, David Henry and wife, Hannah, Adria Marcum and husband, Jason, Krista Henry, Alicia Henry, Jessica Flood and husband, Bobby, Austin Henry and Billy Henry; great-grandchildren, Bryceton Henry, Collin Henry, Dean Marcum, Olivia Marcum, Jace Henry and Landon Flood; and many other family members and friends. He was a member of Hurley Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007, in the Hurley Baptist Church, with Revs. Jerry Wilson and Larry Winfree officiating under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home Republic. Burial will follow in Short Cemetery, Hurley. No visitation is planned, the casket will be closed at all times.
Betty Jane Henry, 76, Hurley, Mo., was born July 5, 1938 in Elsey, Mo., to David George and Julia Mable Tucker Raymond and departed this life Thursday, October 23, 2014 in Mercy Hospital Springfield, Mo., with her family at her side.
Betty had been a lifelong resident of the area and an active member of the Hurley Baptist Church. Early in her marriage, she worked at an egg plant, then Royal McBee and General Electric while helping on the family farm milking cows. Betty had been a hard worker and always managed to take care of her family even when times were hard. She enjoyed doing many different things like flea markets, going to garage sales, fishing and reading. Betty liked to travel and take road trips to the casinos, but most of all she loved her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; six sisters, Reitha Pendergrass, Eula Raymond, Iva Regain, Katherine Henry Georgia Raymond and Jessie Raymond; four brothers, John Raymond, Dennis Raymond, Clifford Raymond and Billy Raymond.
Survivors include three sons, Tim Henry and wife Brenda, Greg Henry and wife Susie and Mark Henry and wife Naomi; a brother, Leo Raymond and wife Barbara; three sisters, Gladys Reavis, Lela Bowling and Barbara Holliday; four sisters in law, Jo Jackson, Dorothy Raymond, Roberta Raymond and Phyllis Raymond of Hurley; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial at the Shorts Cemetery Hurley.
