Carl Hubert Gray, 93, of Steele, Mo., died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at the River Oaks Care Center in Steele.

Born Tuesday, July 2, 1907 in Michie, Tenn., he was the son of the late Odom and Ida Vowles Gray. He was also preceded in death by five children: Dorothy Marie Gray, Martha Joyce Gray, Bobbie Joe Gray, Larry Wayne Gray, and Linda Fay Mann; three grandchildren: Carol Jean Gray Green, Jerry Wayne May, and Judy Diane May; and seven brothers and sisters: Charles, Clemmie, Fred and Arby Gray, Mary Brown, Rachel Poindexter, and Lula Harvell.

Carl was united in marriage to Bessie Estelle Goff on September 10, 1925 in Corinth. She preceded him in death on January 13, 1986.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Steele.

Mr. Gray leaves five sons: J. R. Gray of Center Ridge, Ark., Eldridge Eugene Gray of Steele, James Oneal Gray of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Donald Ray Gray of Blytheville, Ark., and Billie David Gray of Blue Springs, Mo.; two daughters: Louise Christine May of Helena, Ark., and Glenda Mae Wilson of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; one brother, Atwell Gray of Michie; 22 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Gray were held at 2;00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Charles Clark and Rev. Charles Faught officiating.

Burial was at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Pallbearers were Eldridge Gray, Don Gray, Billy Gray, Jackie Gray, Billy David Gray, Jr., Carl Eric Gray, and Scotty Allen Gray.

Bessie Estelle Gray, the daughter of the late John and Cordie Ann Stratton Goff, was born March 3, 1911 at Crump, Tennessee and died January 13, 1986 at Blytheville, Arkansas, at the age of 74. On September 10, 1925, she was married to Carl H. Gray in Corinth, Mississippi.

Services were from German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, January 15, 1986 at 2:00 p.m.

Rev. Charles Faught and Rev. Lloyd Adams officiated.

Burial was at Mount Zion near Steele with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gray leaves her husband, Carl H. Gray; and six sons: J.R. Gray, Morrilton, Ark., Eldridge Gray, Steele, Jim Gray, Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Don Gray, Marion, Ark., Larry Gray, Millington, Tenn., and Billy Gray, Fayetteville, Ark.; three daughters: Christine May, West Helena, Ark., Linda Mann, Starkville, Miss., and Glenda Wilson, Rio Rancho, N.M.; three sisters: Lessie Cosby, Michie, Tenn., Nell Stutts, Acton, Tenn., and Lola Scott, Michie, Tenn.; one brother: Hurley Goff, Tupelo, Miss.; 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, a son, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were the six sons.
