Lance Edward Guthrie, 58, of Steele, died Thursday, October 19, 2006 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born January 25, 1948 in Walnut Ridge, Ark., he was the son of the late Isaac Guthrie and Ida Elnore Prouty Guthrie.
Lance was united in marriage to Glenda Proveaue on February 27, 1973 in Lake Park, Ga.
He served his country in the United State Army and was a past Commander of the DAV in Kennett.
Mr. Guthrie leaves his wife, Glenda Guthrie of the home; one son, Marvin Guthrie, of the home; and two brothers: Jerry Donald Guthrie of Albany, New Mexico and C.L. "Gus" Guthrie of Fulton.
Funeral services for Mr. Guthrie were held at 3 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Crossroads Worship Center in Braggadocio with Rev. Glyn Davis officiating.
Burial was at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Joe Tate, Danny Roberson, Randy Crawford, Scotty Robertson, Larry Thompson and John A. Thompson.
