Mrs. Ethel Channell Heathcock Barron, 90, of Holland, Mo., died Wednesday, September 25, 1996 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Blytheville, Ark.
Born Friday, February 2, 1906 in Missouri, Mrs. Barron was a daughter of the late Raymond and Buford Jackson Channell.
On June 16, 1922 in Pemiscot County, Mo., she was united in marriage with Henry Heathcock, who preceded her in death.
Three sons; William, Joe Elza and G. C.; one daughter, Betty Jane; and a great-granddaughter, Athena Jo Goolsby, also preceded her in death.
Affiliated with the First Baptist Church at Holland, she was a lifelong resident of Pemiscot County, and a homemaker.
Mrs. Barron leaves one son, Ralph "Shot" Heathcock, of Holland; two daughters: Mrs. Cherre Erwin of Holland and Mrs. Anita Kilburn of Pace, Fla.; a granddaughter whom she reared, Mrs. Wanda Heathcock Garner, of Rockwall, Texas; one grandson whom she reared, Joe Heathcock of Flint, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Barron were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 27, 1996 at the First Baptist Church in Holland with Rev. John E. Dunavant officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo., with arrangements by Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele.
Pallbearers were Randall Harris, William Waldrop, Clarence White, Joey Erwin, Tim Tuberville, and V. M. "Bub" Jones.
