Jessie Mae McHolland, of Crane, departed this life Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at the Ozark Mountain Regional Health Care Center, Crane, at the age of 93 years, seven months, and 10 days.
The daughter of Jim and Rosa (Stroup) Lee, she was born January 27, 1913, in Ocie, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Orville McHolland on June 29, 1932. She was a homemaker and loved to garden, attend her church, and teach Sunday School at Hurley Church of God, of which she was a member. Her husband, Orville; a son, Larry; a granddaughter; her parents; two sisters; and three brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Jean Brown, Springfield, and Barbara Blair and her husband, Bill, Billings; a son, Glen McHolland and his wife, Barbara, Crane; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, John Lee and his wife, Anna, Crane; a sister, Jewel Parsons, Springfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006, in Hurley Church of God, with Revs. Herbert Ward and Gary Stewart officiating, under the direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Clever. Burial will follow in the Short Cemetery, Hurley. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening in the funeral home.
