Mrs. Nellie L. Dabbs, 84, died Monday, September 19, 1994, at the 8 Street Manor in Yucaipa, Calif.

Born September 18, 1910 in Kentucky she was the daughter of the late John Butler Crawford and Bulah Logan Crawford.

Mrs. Dabbs was the widow of W.L. Dabbs. Three sons: Billy Dabbs, Terry Dabbs, and Limuel Dabbs, also preceded her in death.

Nellie was an active member of the New Survey Women's Club here in Steele.

Mrs. Dabbs leaves one brother, Odus Crawford, of Gideon, Mo.; nine grandchildren: Terry Dabbs, Lisa Duschuane, Leigh Ann Pinto, Patty Edwards, Pam Nunnery, and Tony, Larry, Randy, and Gary Edwards; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dabbs were held Saturday, September 24, 1994 at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.

Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele, Mo. with arrangements by John W. German Funeral Home of Steele.

Pallbearers were Raymond Crawford, Dale Nunnery, Larry Dabbs, and Dean Cole.

Services for Watt Luther Dabbs were conducted April 17, 1970 by Rev. Richard Pickney with Rev. Fred Albright assisting.

Mr. Dabbs was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital on April 15, 1970 at the age of 63.

A resident of this area for 50 years, he was born on February 17, 1907, in Humboldt, Tenn.

He leaves his wife Nellie Crawford Dabbs; three sons, Billy Gene Dabbs of La Hara, Calif., Limuel Dabbs of West Memphis, and Terry Dabbs of Steele; one brother, John Dabbs of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Mrs. Ester Waller of Steele; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers were J.M. Ridge, Ted Cole, Eugene Kellems, Sr., W.A. Howe, Sr., Harold Rhodes and Polkie Flood.

Honorary pallbearers were Troy Googe, Johnny Rash, Aubrey Bradford, Buck Ballentine, Vernon Ray and M.L. Viar.

The original German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
