Claude Johnson, 73, of Pomona, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at his home.
He was united in marriage to Wanda House on June 18, 1965 at Blue Buck Church in Willow Springs, Missouri. To this union three children were born, Charlotte, Rebecca, and James. Claude was a Lineman for Howell-Oregon Electric for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda; children, Charlotte and Cary Stamps, Rogers, AR, Rebecca and Chuck Baker, Fulton, MO, and James and Rachael Johnson, Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren, Tyler Stamps, Evan Owen, Sarah Owen, Abigail Johnson, Chaz Baker, Robin Phipps, and Rachel Ruester; and one great grandchild, Beckett Phipps. He is further survived by one brother, Lester and Betty Johnson, Eagle Rock, MO; and two sisters, Norma Jean Ash, Republic, MO and Velma Clinton, Cauldwell, ID.
Those who precede him in death are his parents, Virgil and Elsie (Smallwood) Johnson; three sisters, Wilma Pace, Hester Gooding, and Helen Ventor.
Claude enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved to travel and the highlight of his travels was being able to experience both Alaska and Hawaii. He enjoyed working with youth by coaching Mighty Mite football.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Willow Springs City Cemetery with Pastor Mike Dillinger officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, Missouri.
