MRS. RICHARD TUCKER DEAD
A splendid life has closed with an excellent record on the right side of
the ledger, that was beautifully balanced in life's blood, assuring her of sweet rest in the mansions of eternal glory in the Holy City, where her loved ones can fain admission by living the same beautiful life that was
lived by their mother during life.The opportunity is before them without
money or price.
Mrs. Martha P. Lewis was born in Texas in December 1844 and came to Barry
county with her parents when a young girl and grew to womanhood in this
county and then married the late Judge Richard Tucker, a well known and highly esteemed citizen of Barry county.To this union two sons and one
daughter are living to mourn the passing of a good mother who are: Wm. and Jas. Tucker of Golden and Mrs. Dove Lee of Willeteka, Okla., who were at her death at her home near Golden, Friday, August 1, 1919.
She was the sister of Clint and Wm. Lewis of Clifty, Ark.,Mrs. Jas Tucker
or Urbanette, Ark. and Mrs. Helen Trammell of Lincoln Ark.
She was a woman of high character, imbued with the spirit of right and
always practiced it. As evidence of her goodness of heart when the awful
tornado visited Golden and vicinity, killed several neighbors, wounded
several and destroyed their homes she gave each family $10 in cash.She
had been a member of the Christian church since girlhood and was a
consistent member.
Rev. Mack Haggerty conducted services at Viney cemetery on the 2nd, where the remains were laid to rest beside her husband.
Her loved ones should follow in her footsteps because she lived an
exemplary life that will be worth their while to follow.
