Patricia Earlene Anderson, 76, born 8 May 1928, died from complications related to pneumonia on Feb. 20, Christian Health Care nursing home in Republic.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, George and Flora Aldridge; her second husband, Leonard "Doc" Elmo Rogers; and an infant daughter, Pamela. Also preceding her were two favorite aunts, Martha "Bobbie" Genung and M. Eileen Underwood, who were sisterly in their love for Patsy.

She is survived by her many cousins and friends. Pat was the self-described "black sheep of the family" known for her outgoing manner, her escapades and her generosity to family, friends, and strangers. She was a dog person her entire adult life. Pat worked in the food industry as a banquet server and as a hostess at Bigler's Restaurant in Springfield. In her final years, as she fought emphysema, cancer, and depression, she maintained her independent and outspoken nature. Hers was a life of giving and loyalty to those whom she loved while enduring the loss of many of those whom she loved the most.

A graveside service will be Friday at Oak Grove Cemetery, near Crane, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
