Karen Lee Gold, Springfield, Missouri, daughter of Archie and Wanda (Byrom) Gold, was born October 4, 1963 in Springfield and departed this life August 8, 2003 in Barry County from injuries sustained in a car accident at the age of 39 years, 10 months, and 4 days. Karen had lived in Springfield the past 20 years moving from Crane. She graduated from Crane High School in 1981 and graduated from S.M.S. in1987. Karen worked for Ethan Allan as an interior designer. In earlier years she was a member and sang with "Together"in the Crane area. Karen also was a member of the Messiah Chorale in Springfield. She loved music and used her talents to benefit many people. Karen attended the SunsetChurch of Christ and the East Sunshine Church of Christ in Springfield. She loved helping with children and young adults in Sunday School. Her mother, Wanda Gold; paternal grandfather, Lee A. Gold; and maternal grandfather, Otto Byrom, preceded Karen in death. Survivors include her father, Archie Gold of Crane; paternal grandmother, Josephine Gold of Crane; maternal grandmother, Dolly Byromof Cape Fair; one sister, Deana Benton and her husband,Timothy of Springfield; one niece, Kayla Benton; one nephew, Austin Benton; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday,August 13, 2003 in South Jefferson Church of Christ,Aurora, with Joe Bright officiating. Burial will be inOak Grove Cemetery, Crane, under the direction of Manlove-Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home,3132 N. Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65737 or The AmericanCancer Society, 3322 S. Campbell, Suite R, Springfield, MO 65807.
