Tommy Eugene Huffhines, son of Robert Benton and Mertie (Crume) Huffbines, was born July 31, 1930 and departed this life April 15, 1993 at the age of 62 years, eight months and 15 days. Tommy was united in marriage to Jeanie Jackson, and had been a resident of Crane for the past eight years, having moved here from Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the Crane Assembly of God where he was a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He loved music and was a guitar player and singer. He was a member of the Stone County Historical Society, R.E.I, Volunteer EMT on the North Stone County Ambulance. He was also a retired fire captain and mail cattier. He is survived by his wife Jeanie; one son Terry of Lenexa, Ks.; one daughter, Telena Carpenter of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Raymond of Peoria, III.; five sisters, Edna Reavis of Crane, Dorothy Havenstrite of Schaumburg, Ill., Irene Bowling,.Betty Merritt, and Bobbie DeWitt all of Crane; three grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18 in Assembly of God Church, Crane. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery under direction of Manlove Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane.
