Wife of James Polk Ratliff, married on March 1, 1855. James was a Civil War Veteran with Captain James Richey, 76th Reg., enrolled militia of MO. He died in his father’s home on February 3, 1863. Daughter of George F. Barker and Leah Ward- Newton County Probate Court (In vacation) 7th April 1854 - Now at this day comes Miss Feriba Barker a minor heir at law of George Barker deed over fourteen years of age, and made choice of James H. Christian, as guardian of this person and curator of her Estate; and the aforesaid James H. Christian having this day presented to the Judge of the Probate court, a bond executed by said Christian payable to the state of Missouri, to the use and benefit of Feriba Barker in the sun of Four Thousand dollars with Hugh C. Armstrong and Horace W. Long as securities, said bond is received approved and filed and the court considering said James H. Christian as such guardian and curator of said Ward, he the aforesaid James H. Christian having Generally complied with the laws of Missouri, in such cases made and provided. This 7th day of April 1854. Robt. Brock, Judge of Probate - George Barker died in 1847 and Leah died in 1842.
