R. A. PALMER, WELL KNOWN FARMER, DIES
Russell A. Palmer 69-year-old prominent farmer of the Mt. Carmel neighborhood, died at 9:40 o'clock this morning in his home. He had been ill some time.
Mr. Palmer won several state awards for his corn production. Born in the Mt. Carmel area, he was a son of the late Samuel Palmer and Mrs. Ruth Palmer.
Surviving are: His wife, Lenora; two sons, James L. Palmer, Clifton Hill; and Edward Palmer, Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Larson, Washington, D .C., and Mrs. Nelson Trickey, Columbia; his mother; four sisters, Mrs. E. L. Scott, Fulton; Mrs. Don McMurty, Wellsville; Mrs. Les Harris, state of California, and Miss Ruby Palmer, Clifton Hill, two brothers, J. W. Palmer, Moberly, and Roy Palmer, Albuquerque, N. M., and 11 grandchildren.
The body is at the Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Mt. Carmel Church by the Rev. David R. Caldwell, Moberly, assisted by Rev. Albert J. Smith. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
