Reba “Sue” Stuart, a resident of Willow Springs, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 while at Cox Medical Center in Springfield due to natural causes. Born November 18, 1942 to Harvey and Ruby (Benton) Rader in Willow Springs, she was 75 years old.
Sue grew up and attended school in Willow Springs. She started working at the age of 15, serving customers at the soda fountain at the local drug store in Willow. On August 24, 1961 she married Ronnie Kupitz in Branson, MO, and to this union two daughters were born. She was then later married to Homer Dean Stuart. She loved to cook, and spent many years in this capacity. She owned and operated her own bakery which was known as “Kricket’s” in Willow Springs for a year. Before her retirement in 2010, she was the cook and manager at the Willow Springs Senior Center for seven years. Sue had many enjoyments in life. It was said she had many talents; she could drive a tractor, a dump truck, a semi-truck, and grade roads. She loved farming and caring for all her animals. She was passionate about cooking and continued to bake cakes for her family even after her retirement. She also loved to garden, but her favorite time was spent with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Ronnie Kupitz and Homer Stuart; her parents, and several siblings.
Sue is survived by her daughters, Peggy Brown and her husband, Larry and Ronda Anderson and her husband, Mike all of Willow Springs. Further surviving are her grandchildren: Joanna Stewart and her husband, Alex of West Plains; Dustin Kupitz, Michael Sevor, Melissa Smith and her husband, Jerod and Shawn Anderson and his wife, Dawn all of Willow Springs, and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Sue will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 5:00 PM at the First Christian Church, located on N. Center and Fourth Streets in Willow Springs with Pastor Kendal Bates officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home.
