November 11, 1915, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Mrs. Mattie Morrow was born at Princeton W. Va., April 7, 1857, died Nov. 4, 1915. When only a small child her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Marshall moved to the county. She grew to womanhood near Purdy and was married to John Burruss. To them three children were born; Mrs. Ella Lowery, wife of James Lowery of Purdy, Edgar and Miss Effie Burress of Purdy. Mr. Burress died about the year 1889. A number of years later she was married to W. I. I. Morrow who died in 1907. She had been for years a consistent member of the M. E. Church and was one of Purdy's most highly esteemed citizens.
