"On September 7, Mrs. Marion Thomas of Pleasant Ridge, daughter of John Black, died of typhoid. She was a sister to Nellie Black who died of the same disease and also she had a brother, Calvin, who died 2 weeks ago. Another sister, Mrs. Samantha Calton is also ill.
