Obituary - Mrs. Lon Garrison Dies: Mrs. Mary Effie Garrison, wife of Lon Garrison, died at her home near Exeter, Mar. 27, 1930. She was born Feb. 14, 1885 and was a daughter of the late John and Mary Packwood old and highly respected citizens of Barry Co. She was a granddaughter of the late Ben McCary. She and Alonzo Garrison were married May 9, 1914. To this union six children were born, who are, Leota Sarah, Thelma, Dorris, Wright Eugene, Morris Lee and Doran Ray. Morris Lee preceded the mother in death, Nov. 3, 1927. The youngest child is only three months of age. All of the children living were with their mother when the end came. The oldest child, a daughter is slowly recovering from an attack of pneumonia. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by two brothers, Sam Packwood of Clayton, NM and Hunter Packwood of Purdy, three sisters, Cretie Clark of Pineville, Myrtle Weaver of Exeter, and Esther Prewitt of Los Angeles, CA. Funeral services were held at the New Hope Church and burial made in the Clark Cemetery.
