Son of Johnny C. Staponski and Betty Gripka
Mr. John A Staponski, 48, of Purdy, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at St. Johns in Springfield, Mo following a long illness. He was born November 16, 1961 in Pierce City to Johnny C Staponski and Betty (Gripka) Staponski Terry. He was united in marriage to Cheri Lantz, April 14, 2004 in Harrison Arkansas.
John was a welder and maintenance mechanic. His love was working with bucking bulls. He was also a member of the National Guard. John is survived by his mother and loving wife, and his beloved 4 legged baby Myia Jo along with his step-dad, Don Terry; four brothers: Jim and Rick Staponski, Chris and Nick Terry; four sisters: Lona Burtchett, Edna Wake, Tammy Hollesen and Christine Howard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his Father, Paternal Grandparents, John and Elizabeth Staponski, Maternal Grandparents, Tony and Stella Gripka, Step-Mother, Helen J Hilburn Staponski, and one brother Larry Gastor.
Visitation will be from 6:00 till 8:00 Monday June 15, 2010 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 16, 2010 at the funeral home with Danny Powers officiating. Burial will follow at Russell cemetery near Butterfield.
Memorial donations can be made to the family in care of the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.
