SUSAN TURNER
Mrs. Susan Turner, widow of the late James H. Turner, died at her home in La Plata Saturday evening, July 8, 1933. Death being due to the infirmities of age.
Susan Hendron, daughter of Elizabeth and John Hendron, was born near Madison, Missouri on July 6, 1844, being at the time of her death eighty-nine years and two days of age.
In 1861 she was married to James H. Turner of Clark, Missouri. To this union nine children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband and five daughters. Those surviving are Mrs. J.C. Rolison of La Plata, Walter of Oakland, California, Ora A. of Merced, California and James of La Plata; sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She spent the early part of her life in Randolph County, moving from there to a farm near Millard and later to La Plata where she spent her declining years.
In early life she became a member of the Presbyterian Church at Millard. In 1917 she renewed her faith and changed her membership to the La Plata Christian Church.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Presbyterian Church at Millard. Burial was made in the Stukey cemetery near Millard.
