"Grandma" Quinn, one of the best know old ladies of this part of the county, died at her home in Brashear Monday. Mrs. Quinn was the oldest woman in Brashear and vicinity and was one of the pioneers of the county, having made her home here for more than half a century.
Sarah Bartlet was born in Ashland county Ohio Feb. 15, 1823, died at her home in Grashear Mo., Aug. 20, 1917 age 94 years, six months and five days.
She was married to Jacob Conkle in 1838 and came to Missouri in the year 1847. To this union were born seven children, 5 boys and 2 girls, all but two of whom have preceded her in death. The two living are Lewis of Brashear and Jackson of Kirksville. Her husband died in 1890.
In the year of 1894 she was married to Newton Quinn who survives her.
In early life she made a profession of the Christian religion and united with the United Brethren Church and remained a member until death. Owing to failing health the past few years she was unable to take part in active church work yet remained faithful to the end.
She leaves a husband, two sons, 19 grand children and 4 great grandchildren, besides other relatives and friends.
