GILBERT N. MOORE
Gilbert N. Moore, 68 of Rt. 6 Kirksville, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 29, 1982, in the Laughlin Osteopathic Hospital where he had been a patient since Nov. 15.
The son of Levi and Sarah Frances (Derry) Moore, he was born in Adair County on Jan. 25, 1914. On Nov. 16, 1935 in Kirksville, he married Frances Shuman.
Mr. Moore was a life-long resident of Adair County. He was engaged in farming east of Millard for many years. He was also employed at Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital in the boiler room and wrote insurance for Adair County Mutual Insurance.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Carl Moore of Alva, Oklahoma; two brothers, Emmett Moore of Anthony, Texas, and Orville Moore of Mediapolis, Iowa; three sisters, Maurita Wilson of 401 S. Mulanix, Mrs. F.H. (Gladys) Schwind of Shelbina, and Beulah Mae Wickman of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and two granddaughters, Cheryl and Charity.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Elsie Catherine Moore and Clara Frances Moore; and one brother, Homer Moore.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, Dec. 3, 1982 at the Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Gibbs.

Margaret Frances Moore, 87 of Alva, Oklahoma, died Friday evening, July 12, 1996 at Beadles Nursing Home in Alva, Oklahoma.
The daughter of Joseph and Mary (Garlock) Shuman, she was born Oct. 3, 1908 in Adair County, Missouri. On Oct. 16, 1935 in Kirksville, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Moore, who preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1982.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; two daughters, Elsie Catherine Moore and Clara Frances Moore; two sisters, Elsie Shuman and May Barnes.
She is survived by one son, Carl Moore and wife, Christine of Alva Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Cheryl Gray and husband, Danny of Enid, Oklahoma, and Charity Allen and husband, Brian of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Gladys Schwind of Shelbina, Missouri; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Frances was a homemaker who lived on the family farm near Gibbs, Missouri, most of her life. As a young lady she attended the Pleasant View United Brethren Church and the Prairie Bird school as her parents and grandparents had before her. She graduated from Kirksville High School and attended Kirksville State Teachers College. She later taught at the Oklahoma rural school in Adair County.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 1996 at the Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Gibbs.
