Clovis H. Lewis, born October 2, 1891, died April 13, 1964. He was a resident of the Oak Ridge Community.
Born in Hamilton, Ala., Mr. Lewis died at St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Oak Ridge community for 41 years.
Services were from the Oak Ridge Methodist Church Wednesday, April 15, conducted by Rev. Charles Miller.
Graveside services were conducted by Steele Lodge No. 634 AF & AM, with burial at Number Eight Cemetery, John W. German Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Lewis leaves his wife, Mrs. Sallie Mae Lewis of Oak Ridge; two sons, Coy Lewis of Braggadocio and Roy Lewis of Marston; a brother, Rufus Lewis of Cooter; three sisters, Doshia Clifton, Steele; Lula Belk, Detroit, Ala.; Ethel Stanford, Wardell, Mo.; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, November 7, 1976, at 1:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele for Mrs. Sallie Mae Lewis. Rev. James F. McCrary officiated at the services.
Mrs. Lewis was born in 1894 in ... Ala., and died November 5, at the age of 82 in River Oaks Nursing Home in Steele. She was a former resident of the Oak Ridge Community before moving to Marston, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Pete and Ada Sims Clifton, and was married to Clovis H. Lewis, who preceded her in death in April 1964.
She leaves two sons, Coy Lewis of Steele and Roy Lewis of Marston; three sisters, Mrs. Lomie Cook, Mrs. Anna Carter and Mrs. Betty Jeffreys, all of Hamilton, Ala.; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Harry Lewis, Edward Lewis, Eulice Lewis, Levoy Howard, Terry Williams and Lionel Mortland.
Burial was in the Number 8 Cemetery.
