Mary E. O'Kane Caldwell, 93, passed away Friday, Feb. 20 in Cooter. She was born on Sept. 27, 1921, in Pemiscot County to the late Claude and Clara Fuller O'Kane. She retired from Randell Co. in Blytheville and worked for many years as a cook for the Cooter School District. She was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter.
Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Claudyne Razer, Melba Copley and Bell Norrid, and four brothers, Ted, Eric, Lopez and Larry O'Kane.
Survivors of Mrs. Caldwell include one daughter, Delores Clark, of Gurdon, Ark.; two sisters, Charlotte O'Kane and Glenda O'Kane, both of Cooter; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Caldwell were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23 at Holly Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Lewelling officiating. Interment followed at Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Pallbearers were Seth Childers, Stephen Childers, Don Tims Jr., Thomas Radit, Joey Puckett and Gabby Bond.
Honorary pallbearers were Paulice Alexander, Marvin Childers, Jackson Neil, Joe Beck Burton, Gene Gudehus, Tony Morgan, Mike Lynn, Jeff McCutcheon, Jerry McClure, Wayne Cox and Tommy Campbell.
Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
