Clara Imogene Norrid Rodriguez, 67, of Awendaw, S.C died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the East Cooper Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
Born October 9, 1938, in Cooter, she was the daughter of the late James Haskell Norrid and Lavella O'Kane Norrid. Imogene was united in marriage to Tommy Rodriguez on June 26, 1986.
She was a retired nurse and had a second career as a landscape design supervisor at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas.
Mrs. Rodriguez leaves her husband, Tommy Rodriguez, of the home; one son, John Preston McMahan, of Mount Pleasant; two daughters: Janice McClure and her husband Jimmy of Blytheville, Ark. and Jamie Mayo and her husband Jon of Awendaw; three grandchildren: Jordon McClure, Jacob Stone and Austin Stone; one sister, Helen "Wootie" Henderson and her husband Clyde of Troutman, N.C.; one brother, James Richard "Ricky" Norrid and his wife Linda of Jackson, Miss.; her nieces and nephews: Chester and Lisa Henderson, Kevin and Teresa Henderson, Danielle and Joe Moody, Casey Norrid, Tara Norrid; and one great-nephew and great-niece, Joshua Moody and Jessica Moody.
A memorial service for Mrs. Rodriguez will be held for at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home in Steele.
Mrs. Rodriguez was an avid reader and supporter of literacy programs for children.
