Mrs. Ruby Maxine Balch, age 91, of Cookeville and formerly of Adair County, MO passed away June 2, 2016 at Overton County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Livingston, TN.

Interment will be at The Highland Park Cemetery, in Kirksville, Missouri. No services are planned at this time. The family will together, share a celebration of her life.
Mrs. Balch was born July 31, 1924 in Adair County, Missouri, to the late Sam Anthony and Ollie Opal Miller Richardson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Sanford Balch; daughter, Phyllis Gene Balch; sisters, Dorothea Montgomery, Virginia Jennings, and Norma Richardson; and brother, Kenneth Richardson.

Funeral services for Milton S. Balch, 61, of 1002 E. McPherson, will be held Saturday afternoon (Feb. 6, 1982) at three o'clock in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Detweiler will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Julia Mollick, organist and Gordon Collett, soloist. Selections will be, "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" and "How Great Thou Art." Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery with military rites at the graveside.

Mr. Balch died Wednesday evening (Feb. 3, 1982) in the St. Peter's Hospital in St. Peters. Death was unexpected and attributed to an apparent heart condition.

The son of Sanford and Ethel Lee Balch, he was born Sept. 27, 1920 in Darrouzett, Texas. On Nov. 1, 1947, he married Macine Richardson who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Ethel Rash of LaPlata; one son, Scott Balch of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Sonny (Janice) Moore of Kirksville; one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Imogene) Highbarger of Kirksville and one granddaughter, Paula Moore.

He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter, Phyllis Gene, who died at the age of nine in 1957.

During World War II, Mr. Balch, served with the United States Army. During his military career he received the Bronze Star while serving in Germany.

He was a member of the Meadow Brook Christian Church.

Bearers will be: Jaye Miller, Bruce Flynn, Jack McClain, Richard Hatter, Charles Baldwin and Carl Baldwin.
