BESSIE M. BRAGG
--Bessie May Bragg of 1402 E. Jefferson died at 7:05 Monday evening (March 20, 1978) in a Kirksville hospital, where she had been a patient since Feb. 17.
--Born March 19, 1893 in Champaign, Ill. She was the daughter of William D. and Candace Berry Newman. On Feb. 12, 1913 in Kirksville, she was married to Robert E. Bragg who preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1968. Also preceding her in death were one son, Abner Bragg on Sept. 8, 1974; eight brothers; one sister and one son-in-law, Basil Templeman on Sept. 12, 1973
--Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Basil (Nadine) Templeman of Memphis and Mrs. Maynard (Shirley) Cathell of Collinsville, Ill.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Abner (Evelyn) Bragg of Kirksville; one brother, Roy Newman of Macon; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
--Mrs. Bragg had spent her entire married life in the Kirksville area. She had been an employee of the Grim-Smith Hospital for several years.
--Mrs. Bragg was a member of the First Christian Church.
--Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon (March 23, 1978) at two o'clock in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home. The Rev. Walter Simpson and the Rev. Darrel Draper will conduct the services. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
