W. P. Cason Found Dead in Bed
William P. Cason, aged 80, an old resident of Kirksville was found dead in his bed at his home on South First Street last Sunday morning. Mr. Cason had been ill with pneumonia for some time, but for a couple of days previous to his death had seemed better. Sunday morning, however, when members of the family went to arouse him, they found that he had passed away.
Mr. Cason was born in Osage County, Mo., April 23rd, 1836. He came to Kirksville about ten years ago, and has lived here continuously ever since.
The deceased is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons. A daughter and one son are in the West, while the other daughter, Mrs. Rose Coulson, and a son, E. E. Cason, live in Kirksville.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Davis and Wilson chapel. Rev. Mr. Acree, pator of the Baptist Church, conducted them. Interement [sic] took place in Highland Park Cemetery.
