Lulu Louise Muck, Meadville, left this world on Sunday, May 5, 2019, surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield. Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery in Wheeling, MO. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services.

Louise was born south of Meadville, MO, on October 29, 1926, the third daughter of Greenfield “Pete” Cooper and Ruth Marguerite Belshe Cooper. She worked in the War Department in Washington, D.C., following graduation from Wheeling High School. While attending cosmetology school in Maryville, MO, she met and married Melvin Keith Atwood. Following his untimely death, she and their daughter returned to Meadville. On June 28, 1949, she married James B. Muck, and began the adventure of being an army wife, first in Germany, then in several different army bases, always keeping the home fires going when James was deployed. Together they raised seven children. Louise loved gardening, fishing, reading, crocheting, quilting, Word Search, bull riding and cowboys, and most of all her family. Louise is survived by three sons, Jim, Jr. and Karen Muck, Larry and Teresa Muck, all of Meadville and Gerry and Joyce Muck of Liberty; four daughters, Jeannie and Dee Friesner, Sandy and Andy Myers, all of Meadville, Ann and Jerry Beebe of Chillicothe, and Susie Cummings of Barnesville, Georgia, 21 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Martha and Glen Johnson, Evelyn Moner, Dixie Singleton, and Lucille Bowyer, brother-in-law Ron and Doris Muck, sister-in-law Wanda Wren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William Franklin Cooper, sister Helen Lois Atwood, son-in-law Jack Cummings, and two great-grandsons, Dakota Friesner and Kanaan Dowler, her first husband Keith Atwood, and her beloved husband of 65 years, James.


James B Muck, age 86, of Meadville, left this world on Monday, April 14, 2014, surrounded by his wife, all seven of his children, several of his grandchildren, and one beloved niece, Lori Long.

A funeral service will be Friday, April 8, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Wright-Baker-Funeral Home in Brookfield, Mo. Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery in Wheeling, Mo. Visistation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the evening. James was the s/o George William and Mary Elizabeth (Spears) Muck. He married Louise Cooper-Atwood on June 28, 1949. James was drafted into the military service in September 1945, and was on board a troopship headed for Europe when WWII ended. He made military his first career, beginning as a private in post-war Germany, and retiring in October 1965, as a pilot with the rank of Major. He served his country in Germany and the Korean Conflict, flew helicopter missions in Thailand and Vietnam, and served two tours as part of the military escort team for the National Science Foundation, providing helicopter transportation for the scientist during Operation Deep Freeze, in the Antartic.

James second careet was in the trucking business, and he formed M& S Trucking Company in 1975, starting out with a one 18 wheeler and one trailer, an when he retired for the second time in 1998, the company had grown to a fleet of 35 tractors, 70 trailers, and over 50 emp;oyees. While the military and trucking were two major passions in James life, his true passion was his family.

James is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise, three sons and daughters'-in-law, Jim Jr and Karen Muck, Larry and Teresa Muck, Gerry and Joyce Buck, four daughters, and sons-in-law, Jeannie and Dee Friesner, Sandy and Andy Myers, Anna and Jerry Beebe, Susie and Jack Cummings, 21 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson. He is also survived by two brothers, Bob Muck, and Ron and Doris Muck, one sister, Wanda Jo Wren, four sisters-in-law, Martha and Glen Johnson, Evelyn Moner, Dixie Singleton, and Lucille Bowyer, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, June Jones, Berniece Grime, and Elva Jean Bois, and one great grandson, Dakota Friesner.
