Donna LaCore, 69 of Melissa, TX and formerly of Kirksville passed away Friday October 14, 2011 in Melissa, TX.
The daughter of Paul and Elise Dodd, she was born August 19, 1942 in Newark, MO. On March 31, 1972 in Edina, MO she was united in marriage to Robert L. LaCore.
Donna graduated from the Knox County High School and received her teaching degree from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. She was a school teacher for over twenty-five years. She dedicated her life to her children, raising them with a strong work ethic, competitive drive, and an amazing family bond.
She enjoyed baseball, football, video poker, POGO, reality TV, playing cards, video games, playing the piano and cooking for her family.
Donna is survived by her children, Brian Childress of Melissa, TX, Terry LaCore and wife Jennifer of Melissa, TX, Tami Demory and husband Darin of Melissa, TX, Stephanie Tillis and husband Aaron of Branson, MO, Robert LaCore of Branson, MO and Brad LaCore and wife Sherry of Branson, MO; nine grandchildren, Cohen and Courtland LaCore, Clayton and Nolan Demory, Amanda and Travis LaCore, Bradley LaCore, Michelle Moles and Gabe Ellett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Darlene LaCore; and nephew and niece, Bobby LaCore and Billie Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert on May 7, 2004.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday October 18, 2011 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Don Noble officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be John Cavanaugh, Reiner Sioco, Mark Woodburn, Kosta Gara, Joe Wood and John Hammack. Honorary bearers will be Danny Kirby, Darin Demory, Aaron Tillis, Jason Daniels and James Raine. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home Kirksville, MO. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Donna's extreme dedication to the Cardinals, the LaCore's request that donations be made to the Pujols Family Foundation.
