OTTO LAUDWIG, 63 YEARS OLD IS DEAD HERE

Suffered Cerebral Hemorrhage While At Work on Farm

Otto H. Laudwig, 63, of Route 5, Kirksville died in a Kirksville hospital at noon Monday. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at nine o'clock Monday morning while repairing a brooder house on his farm.

The son of Charles and Anstina (Kirtchner) Laudwig, he was born in Schuyler county, northeast of Greentop, on Aug. 23, 1899. On Sept. 24, 1924 in Kirksville, he married Edith Dawson.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Howard E. Laudwig of Quincy; two brothers, Frank Laudwig of rural Greentop and Paul Laudwig of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Lena Wise of Springfield, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and two brothers including Lee Laudwig who died July 2, 1962.

Mr. Laudwig had been employed by the International Shoe Company for 45 years, having worked in the Kirksville plant, a plant in Chicago and the plant in Quincy. While he was in the Quincy plant, he served for nine years as president of the CIO Local No. 185 Boot and Shoe Union of Quincy. In 1954 he moved to his present address.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Quincy.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Foster Memorial Home with the Rev. R. L. Hester, of Brashear, pastor of the Sabbath Home church, officiating, assisted by Rev. Archie Cooper of Kirksville. Burial will be in the Highland Park cemetery.

Bearers will be Joe Paul, Lonnie Newman, Melvin Watson, Willard Cusick, Cecil Christman and Willis Wade.
