Romabelle Ogle Dies At 57; Services Set

Mrs. Lewis (Romabelle) Ogle, 57, of Rt. 1, Kirksville died this morning at four o'clock at her home. She had been in failing health the past six months, however, death was unexpected.

Born in Kirksville on April 7, 1919, she was the daughter of Edward and Della Burgess Epperson. In Kirksville on Aug. 13, 1938, she was married to Lewis Ogle who survives. Also surviving are one son, Melvin, Melvin Ogle of Rt. 1, Kirksville; one daughter, Mrs. Rick (Tamara Lu) Bleything of Viburnam; four grandchildren, Tractm Nucgekke and Alisha Ogle and Chiston Bleything and two brothers, Robert Epperson of Portland, Ore. and Edward Lee Epperson of 701 W. Cottonwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Lee Ogle in 1948; one daughter, Cheryl Ellen in infancy; two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Ogle was reared in Kirksville where she attended public schools. She was a 1938 graduate of the Kirksville High School.

Mrs. Ogle had been an employe of the International Shoe Company for 24 years. Since 1971 she had been with the Food Srvice Department at NMSU.

She was a member of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church and Anchor Rebekah Lodge of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Hamilton Street Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Kelley, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.

The body is at the Foster Memorial Home where it will remain until noon Thursday when it will be taken to the church.

The casket will be closed at the funeral hour and not reopened.

Bearers will be: Robert D. Dunston, William Murrell, Albert Chi, Frank McIntyre, Jr., William Grundmeyer and Charles Morris.

William Lewis Ogle, 62, of 1801 South Orchard, passed away Wednesday March 16, 1983 at his farm west of Kirksville. Death was unexpected and attributed to a heart attack.
The son of Bert Melvin and Melba Kurtsinger Ogle, he was born April 26, 1920 in Sullivan county. On August 13, 1938 in Kirksville, he married Romabelle Epperson who preceded him in death in 1977. On September 1, 1977 he married Reta Hall who survives. Also surviving are one son, Melvin Ogle of Kirksville; one daughter, Tammy Ogle Bleything of Kirksville; one step-daughter, Mrs. James (Jolene) Combs of Novinger; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Ogle of Kirksville; two sisters, Helen Howell of Kirksville and Ilene Cook of Stockton, California and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Lee Ogle; one daughter, Cheryl Ellen Ogle; three sisters, Pauline Ogle, Amber Miller and Ruth Dixon and one brother, Earl Ogle.
Mr. Ogle attended school in Adair county. During his earlier years he was employed with M.F.A. For a time he served as Deputy Sheriff of Adair County. He served with the Kirksville Police Department from March 17, 1968 until his retirement on December 1, 1980.
He was a member of the Hamiton Street Baptist Church, I.O.O.F. and Loyal Order of Moose, No. 1751.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon March 19, 1983 in the chapel of the Foster-Fohn Memorial Home. The Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Charles "Bud" Reese, singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "One Day At A Time". He will be accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery.
The casket will be closed at the funeral hour and not reopened.
Casket bearers will be: Bill Murrell, Frank McIntyre, Jr., Leland Hays, Leland "Red" Roberts, Randy Forquer and Billie Howell.
Members of the Kirksville Police Department will serve as honorary bearers.
Friends may call at Foster-Fohn Memorial Home.
