OBITUARY
Esther Lewis was born near Albany, New York, April 4, 1834. When a little girl her parents moved to Oswego, New York, where she was married to John W. Parker in 1853. To this union four children were born: Edward J. Parker of Minneapolis, Minn.; Marion H. Ross, Lancaster; Dr. John W. Parker of Kansas City, and Jennie L. Hulin, of New York City. They came west and located on a farm near Kirksville in 1870, where they resided until 1895, when Mr. Parker retired from active life, and located in Kirksville, where he died in 1898. Mrs. Parker's health failed about eight years ago, and she then went to reside with her son, Dr. John W. Parker, of Kansas City, where she died May 26. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Presbyterian church and a most excellent woman, greatly loved by all who knew her. The remains were brought to Kirksville for burial and the funeral took place from the Presbyterian church. Services were conducted by Rev. K. C. Ventress. Burial in Highland Park cemetery.
