Daughter of John Stuff and Margaret Sparks
Wife of Gilbert B. Roop
Nora S. Roop was born Feb. 3, 1907, near Graysville, the daughter of John and Margaret (Sparks) Stuff. Since infancy she was reared in the home of her grandparents, Bill and Ellen Sparks. In April 1937 in Memphis, she was married to Gilbert B. Roop and to this marriage three children were born.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy Roop and Joyce Roop, both of the home, one son, James E. Roop of Route 3, Kirksville; two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Stella) Wood of Ottumwa, Ia., and Mrs. Herb (Wanda) Vestal of Cincinnati, Ia., and two brothers, Pete Stuff of Ottumwa, Ia., and Junior Stuff of Davenport, Ia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Sept. 8, 1949, and one brother.
Mrs. Roop had spent her entire life in and near Adair county.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the Jackson Dee Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Archie Cooper of Kirksville officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
Bearers will be: Ray Kirkpatrick, Ronald Ledford, John Blodgett, Gary Cornelison, Dave Cornelison and Gary Danner.
