Mrs. Ella Sling Called in Death; Rites Thursday
Mrs. Ella Sling, 59, died at her home, 1210 Hershey avenue, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after a two months illness with a complication of ailments. She had been a resident of this community since 1902.
Mrs. Sling was born in Kirksville, Mo., Aug. 3, 1877, the daughter of Hart and Ella Rhodes Sutter. Her marriage to Tony Sling took place Feb. 28, 1895. She was a member of the Baptist church and the Royal Neighbor lodge.
Surviving are her husband and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Tina Smith of Muscatine, Mrs. Florence Schock of Quincy, Ill., Anna Gillis of Mundon, Ia., George Setter of Kirksville, Mo., Fred and William Setter of Quincy, Ill.
The body is at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals, where it will remain for services at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Vance H. Webster, of the First Baptist church, in charge. The body will be taken to Kirksville, Thursday afternoon and burial rites held there Friday morning.
