Eliza Jean (Beall) Stewart, 80, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday (September 23, 2012) at home surrounded by her loved ones.

The daughter of Joshua James and Bonnie Fern (Round) Beall, she was born February 12, 1932 in LaPlata, Missouri. On August 30, 1948, in Kirksville, Missouri, Eliza was united in marriage to Andrew Stewart who preceded her in death on June 15, 1991.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, John Thomas Stewart; one daughter, Joyce Lucille Stewart; by Steve Hurst whom she considered her own; five sisters, Jenny Stewart, Fern Maize, Inez Thomas, Ola Beall and Geneva Beall; one daughter-in-law, Mickey Stewart; one son-in-law, Rick Steele; two grandchildren, Teresa Lynn and Bonnie Jean Stewart and one great granddaughter, Whitnea Watts.

Eliza is survived by three sons, Terry (Marsha) Stewart, Danny (Denise) Stewart, and Randy Stewart and Jennifer Bratton all of Kirksville, MO; four daughters, Andrea (Butch) VanDyke and Donna Steele all of Kirksville, MO, Mickey (Donnie) Watts of Milan, MO and Prissy (Dave) Coy of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Libby Mills of Kirksville, MO; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren, and seven others, she considered her own grandchildren.

Eliza resided most of her life in Kirksville, where she received her education at the Willard School. She was employed a number of years for Lamberts Glove Factory. Eliza enjoyed playing Bingo, yard selling and through the years enjoyed spending time with the Salvation Army Sunbeams and Girl Guards.

Eliza was a very devoted mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren and many friends.

She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 824 and of the First Liberty Full Gospel Church.

Public visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday (September 26, 2012) in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday (September 27, 2012) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Reverend Fred Baker presiding. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be John Harrelson, Jim Bell, Derek Cunningham, Terry Simpson, Mike Gosmyer and Randy Singleton. Her grandsons will be honorary pallbearers.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Eliza Stewart may be made to Women of the Moose Chapter 824 or to the First Liberty Full Gospel Church. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO
