Daughter of William M. and Sarah Saint Osborn
Rachel Melinda Osborn was born July 26, 1849 in Henry Co., Iowa to William and Sarah (Saint) Osborn. She was the second of 14 children. She was raised a Quaker and left the church to marry David Devoss Scott on Nov. 10, 1867. Rachel passed away on Oct. 29, 1897 in Brashear, Adair Co., Missouri.
