Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, Butler Funeral Home, 407 East Broadway, Bolivar. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, Stockton Christian Church, 703 West St., Stockton. Burial: 4 p.m. Thursday, July 27, New Salem Cemetery, Seligman.
Mrs. Cagle, 70, died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 18. She was born in Cassville, the first child of Joe D. and Mary Marguerite Varner-Roller.
She grew up in Seligman, and graduated valedictorian of the class of 1964, Southwest High School at Washburn. She married Willis M. Cagle June 6, 1964.
The couple made their home in various small towns in southwest Missouri. They lived on their family farm in the Morrisville area from 1971 through the summer of 1984. During this time, she worked at a law firm and then Polk County Bank. In 1984, the family moved to Diamond, and thereafter, she graduated cum laude from Missouri Southern State University. In 1987, she became a Certified Public Accountant and practiced in Joplin.
In 1990, Janice moved to Stockton with her family and started her own accounting firm. Later, she became the Cedar County Public Administrator, and held this position, along with her accounting practice, until early 2012. Throughout her life, Janice was deeply involved in various community organizations.
Survivors include her husband, Willis M. Cagle of Stockton; a daughter, Jo E. Cagle of St. Louis; a son, Zane T. Cagle and wife Lee of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Aiko L. Cagle and Kai M. Cagle; three siblings, Danny Roller and wife LaVerna of Exeter, Wesley Roller and wife Karen of Washburn and Molly McKay and husband Lowell of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
