Cassville Democrat or Republican, June 1925 - Mrs. Lora Ramsey, wife of Henry Ramsey, passed away suddenly June 25, at her home near Butterfield of was thought to have been from gas around the heart. Lora Straub was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daus Straub and was born Aug. 26, 1872 (stone reads 1873) in Shelby Co., Indiana, and came to Barry county in the early eighties. In March 1893, she and Henry Ramsey were united in marriage and to this union were born ten children, eight of whom with the husband survive her. They are Raymond of near Butterfield, Clarence, Ben, John and Frank at home and Ike of Denver, CO, Mrs. Susie Bennett and Mrs. Sallie Cook of Picher, OK. She was a granddaughter of the late Eliza Talbert who resided in Cassville many years. About sixteen years ago she professed faith in Christ and united with the Corinth Baptist church and her last words as death struck her were “sweet Jesus”. Funeral services were held at the home conducted by Rev. Melvin Henson at 10:30 Sunday morning and interment made in the Corinth Cemetery south of Cassville, the funeral being in charge of the Horine-Koon Undertaking establishment. All her children being present at the funeral.
