Judith Ann Fields

Judith Ann "Judy" Fields, age 68 of Springfield Missouri, was united with her Lord and Savior on February 18, 2011 after a 17-year fight with cancer. She was born September 7, 1942 in Edwardsville, Illinois. She accepted Jesus as her savior in June of 2000 and was a faithful member of Broadway Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri where she led the women's bible study fellowship for many years. She lived her life dedicated to her friends and family and lived her faith as a model of rothers.

A retired bookkeeper for Michael's Arts and Crafts, she enjoyed quilting and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Elsie (Strohmeier) Werner of Edwardsville Illinois and her step daughter Elaine Fields of Springfield Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer I. Fields of Springfield, three sons Duane Highley and wife Lisa of Springfield, Gary Highley and wife Sara of Fairfield California, and Jeffrey Highley and wife Marianne of North Richland Hills Texas, step-daughter Paula Bucher and husband John of Springfield, brothers Jim Werner (wife Pat) and Bob Werner, both of Edwardsville, and seven grandchildren: Jason Highley and wife Renee, Joseph Highley, Colten Highley, Annie Highley, Alexander Highley, Amanda Highley , and Brandon Highley.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2011, at Broadway Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri with Rev. Eddie Bumpers officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Broadway Baptist Church Building Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.

Judy was known for openly sharing her faith and love of the Lord. Through out her 17-year fight with cancer she never complained, but instead gave glory to God and did not question His plan. Her faithful witness and patience was an inspiration to many people.
